Interview with Muhammad Yunus

What an absolute joy and privilege it was to welcome one of my social entrepreneurship heroes, Muhammad Yunus, as a guest speaker for Becoming a Changemaker! Truly a professional dream come true.

I’m pretty sure he’s the first social entrepreneur I ever learned about, way back in 2008. His pioneering work in microcredit influenced how we designed StartSomeGood, and the way he carries himself with such humility (as a Nobel Prize winner, no less!) and how he continues questioning the status quo even 6 decades into his work inspire me greatly.

He’s dedicated his whole life to serving others and he continues to be such a bright light even in dark times, helping paint a picture of the change we all need to create in the world right now.

It was a special moment last night to introduce him to my changemaker students and to see their faces light-up with a jolt of inspiration and possibility -- just like when I was in their shoes a decade ago.

Many thanks to Dean Ann Harrison for making this talk part of her terrific Dean's Speaker Series (and please check out the other amazing speakers joining her this semester).
